We have organized a program that is incredibly rich in Chinese culture:• Dancers: very traditional dances with local talent and groups from Great Wall Performing Arts from Winnipeg (PHOTO)
• Great Wall Magic: a "face changing" and a magic shadow show (PHOTO)
• Musicians: both locally and from Winnipeg, will perform on traditional instruments (PHOTO)
• An acrobatic team: will be coming from China to perform (PHOTO). You’ve seen such performances on TV and perhaps in Las Vegas, now you will see them in Brandon!
• Lion Dance from WuShu Manitoba: we will have, for the first time in Brandon, the famous traditional LION Dance with live musicians to accompany the dancers – this is always the main attraction at the Chinese New Year / Spring Festival (PHOTOS) This group competes internationally – in Las Vegas, and have won the championship several times:
• Martial arts performers
• Traditional Chinese Fashions
• Singers: both traditional story-telling songs, folk songs from the villages, and pop music for the younger generation• A store featuring authentic cooking ingredients from China, dishes, art, ornaments
MORE FEATURE ATTRACTIONS
• A gallery of Artists working on their craft: Chinese calligraphy, painting, paper cutting: visitors will have the opportunity to purchase one of a kind original works of art
• Demonstrations by experts in Kung-fu, Tai-chi, dim sum making
• Food: traditional food from different regions of China (made locally by "lo sow" - experienced cooks in Brandon, and several who have just arrived to work in Brandon)
• Authentic beverages at the bar: (Tsingtao beer, plus Chinese wine, available for the first time in Manitoba)

• A small group of local Chinese volunteers have participated in the past within GLOBAL VILLAGE.
BACKGROUND NOTES
• Arrival of new Chinese immigrants and permit workers in Brandon is providing many more volunteers.
• We are getting more and more students from China at Brandon University
• We have a committee in the process of forming the WestMan Chinese Association
• Through this committee, we are able to pull together all the groups within Brandon and the rural Westman area – for volunteers and talented performers
• The Winterfest committee are happy to see us finally participate as a Pavilion and we thank them for their support
• We've held auditions locally for talented entertainers – and there are many!
• We’ve also booked professional entertainment from Winnipeg and China (see photos below)
• The Pavilion will be at the Town Centre: Thanks to Marlow Kirton and K’s Oriental Food for the use of the facilities.
